Melinda Hinkson

Melinda Hinkson is an associate professor of anthropology at Deakin University, and director of the Institute of Postcolonial Studies, Melbourne. Much of her work is informed by longstanding research relationships with Warlpiri people of Central Australia. Melinda has published widely on Warlpiri visual production and placemaking, the politics of representation, the life work of Australian anthropologist WEH Stanner, and the governance of Indigenous difference. Among her recent works are Remembering the Future: Warlpiri Life through the Prism of Drawing (Aboriginal Studies Press, 2014) and See How We Roll: Enduring Exile Between Desert and Urban Australia (Duke University Press, 2021).
